Alleged Coup Plotter Is Executed in Gabon
LIBREVILLE, Gabon — A Gabonese air force captain was executed at dawn Sunday for plotting to overthrow President Omar Bongo, sources close to the government said.
Capt. Alexandre Mandja was sentenced earlier this month by a military court. The court also ordered two noncommissioned officers jailed for life at hard labor.
