The retailer said that, contrary to reports in Advertising Age, it has not changed its position and still intends to get out of the catalogue business. Montgomery Ward added that it doesn’t intend to merge the operation into a subsidiary. Advertising Age had reported that the retailer was considering transferring the operations to Signature Group, a wholly owned unit.
