Researchers have developed a simple blood test that can predict who will develop diabetes several years before it becomes apparent, the Joslin Diabetes Center announced in Boston. The test searches for antibodies that destroy the body’s insulin-producing cells. It takes several years for the antibodies to destroy enough of the cells to cause diabetes.
