Landlord Files Chapter 11: A landlord who is embroiled in an ongoing rent strike with many of his tenants has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Pablo Sarabia--one of 11 landlords in central Orange County whose tenants are refusing to pay rent until alleged health and safety hazards in their apartments are corrected--filed for bankruptcy Tuesday. The tenants live in Sarabia’s buildings at 810 and 829 S. Townsend St. and 931 and 935 S. Standard St. Sarabia has been trying to evict the striking tenants, and a court hearing on the evictions has been set for Sept. 17. The landlord lists $3.03 million in assets and $2.8 million in liabilities.
