Odetics Inc. of Anaheim has signed three contracts to build a total of $6.4 million worth of spaceborne digital magnetic tape recorders and related components.
Odetics will build a spare flight recorder for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s space telescope under a $1.1 million contract with Lockheed Corp. The recorder will serve as a backup for three other recorders Odetics shipped last year.
Odetics also has a $1.6 million contract with IBM’s Federal Systems Division for equipment. A third contract, for $3.7 million, is from a major, unidentified aerospace firm for a Department of Defense program.
