Jerry Falwell and S. Africa
If Jerry Falwell claims to speak for most of America’s conservative Christians as the name of his group “Moral Majority” implies, then it is he who stands atop a platform of “phonies,” not Bishop Tutu. I’m white, Christian and conservative, and while I will not go so far as to boycott or ask others to divest themselves of their investments in companies who do business or have factories in South Africa, I certainly will not go out and spend my hard-earned dollars to buy Krugerrands to militarily prop up a government whose constitution and government are so diametrically opposed to mine.
