A former buyer for Hughes Aircraft Co. in El Segundo was sentenced to six months in federal prison after he pleaded guilty to accepting a $2,500 bribe from a Hughes subcontractor. U.S. District Judge Robert M. Takasugi also fined John R. Hamilton, 54, of Lakewood, $7,500 and ordered him to do 300 hours of community service work. Hamilton is the sixth person to be sentenced to prison as a result of a federal investigation into kickbacks and bribes involving defense contractors and a Chatsworth machine shop, R. H. Manufacturing. Five others have received jail terms ranging from a minimum of six months to a maximum of three years.
