Nancy Reagan to Attend Memorial for Publisher

WASHINGTON —
First Lady Nancy Reagan will attend a private memorial service in New York today for the late publisher Gardner Cowles, a White House aide announced Tuesday.
Cowles, who was the founder of Look magazine, died of heart failure on July 8 at age 82. Mrs. Reagan and the publisher were well acquainted, said Elaine Crispen, the First Lady’s press secretary.
