Chinese Flood Toll 147

PEKING —
The toll from floods spawned by a typhoon in southern China’s Hunan province has risen to at least 147 dead, with thousands driven from their homes, the newspaper China Daily reported Tuesday. A total of 576 people were injured in the flooding.
