Satellite dish antennas are prohibited from public view in San Marino. This city, which several years ago was a pioneer in requiring that solar panels be screened from view, has enacted an ordinance prohibiting homeowners from installing satellite dish antennas that can be seen from the street or others’ front yards. Antenna owners are required to keep them off rooftops if they can be seen from the street, and out of sight when they are on the ground. Former Mayor Lynn Reitnour said an ordinance passed by the City Council is “protection from the possibility of sight pollution.”
