A poll found small businesses pessimistic.

The main concerns of small business owners looking to 1986 are high taxes and interest rates, according to a national survey by Southwest State University, Marshall, Minn. Other concerns included government regulations and red tape, competition from large business and the quality and cost of available labor. The survey found 33%of small business owners expect lower profits next year, 43%expect results to be flat and only 22%expect an increase. The questionnaire was sent to 5,000 small businesses with a response rate of 60%.
