Minneapolis Hospital Gets Approval for Jarvik Heart

MINNEAPOLIS —
Abbott Northwestern Hospital has received approval from the federal Food and Drug Administration to implant the Jarvik-7 artificial heart when needed to save the lives of patients waiting for human donors. The hospital announced the approval Monday.
