HURT’S SO BAD

Share

To get right to the point, the thing is, uh, the only thing that really matters is my perception of the textural meaning of a complex yet simple space which is interior in an exterior context but is actually the wide open space between William Hurt’s ears.

There is indeed “grief in the streets.” It is the frustrated sobbing of Calendar readers who read the Hurt interview right through to the end (“Through a Glass Darkly,” by Deborah Caulfield, Sept. 15), an experience akin to beating your head against a wall because it feels so good when you stop.

I hope Calendar’s editors have done right by Caulfield. After giving her that assignment, you ought to pick up her psychotherapy bills for at least six months.
