Delayed, Costly A-Plant On-Stream in Louisiana

BATON ROUGE, La. —
The Waterford 3 nuclear power plant, eight years behind schedule and built at 12 times its original estimated cost, went into operation Monday, officials reported Tuesday. The $2.84-billion plant is the first commercial nuclear facility in the state.
