Seven of the eight counts against E.J. (Doc) Kreis, Vanderbilt University strength coach, for distributing illegal muscle-building steroids to football players were dismissed in Nashville, Tenn.

At a hearing to consider pretrial motions by prosecutors and defense attorneys, Circuit Judge Bobby Capers dismissed all but one count against Kreis--the charge of conspiracy to distribute the steroids. Capers said that he dismissed the seven charges because the alleged offenses had occurred outside the one-year statute of limitations.
