Alcoholism: Is It a Disease?

Share

I applaud Money’s letter, saying alcoholism is the ultimate effect of a series of purposive decisions, not a disease.

To say alcoholism is a disease is like saying overeating is a disease that the individual is powerless to control. What happened to the idea that people ought to control their impulses? It’s time we return to self-discipline.
