FBI Seizes 462 Lbs. of Cocaine
FBI agents seized about 462 pounds of cocaine from a “stash house” in La Canada and arrested a suspected member of a cocaine-trafficking ring operating in the Los Angeles area, the agency announced today.
Supervising Special Agent Ken Jacobsen told a press conference at FBI headquarters that the arrest of Alberto Jesus Gallego, a 48-year-old Colombian, came Tuesday after an extensive investigation. The street value of the drug was placed at between $48 million and $50 million. The agent said the seizure was probably second only to a record 556 pounds seized in May in a joint operation involving the Los Angeles Police Department, Drug Enforcement Administration and Pasadena police.
