A draft report on chemical accidents in the United States shows that thousands of incidents have occurred since 1980, an EPA spokesman said. The draft report, prepared for the Environmental Protection Agency by outside consultants, shows at least 6,928 chemical accidents have occurred in the United States since 1980, killing 135 people and injuring 1,500.
