Buy at Reputable Dealer

Share

I wish to respond to Darrell Parrish’s letter (“Car-Buying Tips,” Sept. 15) when he advises to “take a friend (friends make salesmen nervous)” in an automobile purchase.

Parrish may have to hide behind a “friend” in order to survive, but I credit today’s automobile buyer with considerably more savvy than he does.

Furthermore, the Additional Dealer Mark-up Stickers are practically unheard of on American-built cars--only in the Japanese import houses which have been ripping-off the public for years.

If Parrish and others could diminish their paranoia and shop well-established domestic dealers with reputations of ethical conduct--they might encounter an entirely different attitude.
