The government has ordered more price controls in an attempt to stem inflation, newspapers reported Friday.

Authorities took the step after a wave of price increases that were expected to push inflation to at least 75% this year, and will involve more than half of all products made domestically, the reports said.

According to the Belgrade daily Politika Ekspres, prices had been controlled for 26.74% of domestic products and the new percentage will be 54.36.
