Anaheim : Passenger Killed When Auto Hits Utility Pole

A passenger in a car was killed early Tuesday when the driver, later arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and vehicular manslaughter, crashed the vehicle into a utility pole on Hester Street near Orangewood Avenue in Anaheim, police said.

The victim, a 42-year-old man whose name was being withheld until his relatives are notified, suffered major head injuries and was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he died at 2:35 a.m., about an hour after the accident.

The driver, Jamie Lee Robinson, 18, of Santa Ana was treated for cuts on her face and leg at Western Medical Center in Santa Ana and later released. She was then taken to Orange County Jail, where she was being held in lieu of $25,000 bail, police said.
