Temp-Stik Corp. of El Toro announced Wednesday that it expects to post a loss for 1985 but that a new electronic thermometer to be introduced in 90 days could lead the company to profitability if sales are strong.

Temp-Stik officials also said that the company has selected Consolidated Controls Inc. of Danbury, Conn., to build the electronic circuitry for Temp-Stik’s electronic thermometer. The initial order is for $415,000 and covers engineering costs as well as the first 10,000 electronic units expected to be delivered over a 12-month period.

Temp-Stik has been plagued by losses. In the first six months of 1985, the company lost $182,894 on sales of $261,201. However, the performance of the 11-year-old company is improving. In the same period last year, the company lost $339,423 on sales of $182,346.
