UCLA Chancellor Charles E. Young has been named chairman of the 11-member board of the Montana-based Mansfield Center for Pacific Affairs. The independent nonprofit center, established in 1979, is named after Mike Mansfield, ambassador to Japan and former majority leader of the U.S. Senate. The center offers an international seminar series and public conferences among its programs.
