The Soviet Union allowed 93 Jews to leave the country in September, more than three times the number from the month before, the International Committee for Migration said Friday.

There had been 174 arrivals at the committee’s reception center in Vienna in July, the highest monthly figure in 2 1/2 years.

But the August total plunged to only 29,the lowest monthly figure since the committee began its assistance to Soviet Jews in 1971.

The jump back up to 93 in September brought to 997 the total for the first nine months of this year. That was more than the 1984 total of 922 but still well below previous annual figures.
