‘Mercy Killings’

I wonder how many of your other readers of Barry Bearak’s article (Oct. 6), “Murder--or an Act of Compassion,” took notice that in all three cases of “mercy killings” mentioned in this report a husband killed his wife. It would be interesting to know the statistics of “mercy killings” broken down to how many are committed by husbands against wives and wives against husbands.
