Volunteers donated blood at hospitals and clinics in Bangladesh for students injured at Dhaka University when the roof of an auditorium collapsed during a heavy rain. At least 71 people died, and 300 were injured. The heavy rain came from a storm sweeping out of the Bay of Bengal, flooding low-lying areas and leaving thousands homeless. No other casualties were reported.
