The Soviet Union has gradually increased oil shipments to the West just three weeks after mysteriously curtailing most of its exports, but analysts say deliveries are not expected to return to normal levels soon. There is general agreement among the analysts that the drop in Soviet oil exports and a disruption of supplies from Iran’s war-damaged Kharg Island oil terminal in the Persian Gulf should help prop up oil prices through the winter.
