A man believed to be the “Jogging Suit Bandit” was arrested by Redondo Beach police, who allege that he has held up eight beach-area supermarkets and businesses in the last month. Don Bernard Price, 28, clad in a white jogging suit, was arrested by officers who stopped a car minutes after the manager of a Von’s supermarket was robbed of $1,500, investigators said. Officers found a .22-caliber pistol, several bundles of cash and a maroon jogging suit in the car. Lt. Tom Doty said Price matches the description of a man sought by five police agencies in a series of armed robberies that began Sept. 15. Arrested with Price was Eugene Miles, 34, of Inglewood, who was driving the car seen leaving the Von’s robbery. Police were unsure if Miles was involved in the string of holdups. Both were held in lieu of $11,000 bail, Doty said.
