Kuwait Bans Fishing Near Gulf War Zone

KUWAIT —
The Kuwaiti government has banned fishing near Iraq’s self-proclaimed war zone in the northern gulf after the death of a fisherman whose boat apparently hit a floating mine, the Al Qabas newspaper reported Thursday.
It quoted an Interior Ministry statement as saying the ban covered areas up to five miles north of Faylakah and the nearby Waha islands off Kuwait’s northern coast.
