Angels Exercise Option, Retain Ruppert Jones
The Angels announced Thursday that they have retained outfielder Ruppert Jones for the 1986 season by exercising an option clause in the contract he signed with the team as a free agent last January.
Jones batted .231 with 21 homers and 67 RBIs. He concluded the season with only three hits in his last 43 at-bats.
