Mayor’s Retrial
It seems that Mayor Roger Hedgecock has been finally convicted on the specious, flimsy assumption that he was guilty of ignoring an unfortunate bit of legislation that allows the wealthy to contribute any amount to their political campaign but limits the others to no more than $250 from any one supporter--government of the rich, for the rich and by the rich.
Be that as it may, the real losers in this long, sordid taxpayer -upported inquisition will be the citizens of San Diego City and, avoidably, of San Diego County as the real estate developers resume their unimpeded “Orange-ing” of San Diego, and the quality of our lives diminishes accordingly. Another strong voice of reason for the environment has been stilled.
