Falangist Paper Shut Down

BEIRUT —
Lebanon’s biggest Christian militia today shut down Beirut’s main Christian newspaper and confined its editor to his home, accusing him of trying to sabotage peace talks with Muslim forces.
Joseph Abu-Khalil, editor of the right-wing Falangist Party newspaper Al-Amal, was held under armed guard after militiamen took over the paper’s East Beirut offices and stopped publication of today’s edition.
