City librarian Carol Aronoff has been elected president of the Recreation, Parks and Community Services Department of the League of California Cities. Aronoff is the first librarian to be elected president of the department, which is composed of libraries, recreation and parks, cultural arts and human services.
Aronoff was appointed city librarian in 1974. She has been active in a number of professional organizations, served as president of the California Library Assn. in 1982 and is vice chairman of the Metropolitan Cooperative Library System.
