The move, effective Nov. 8, involves 1,000 workers at American Telephone & Telegraph’s consumer products plant in Shreveport. Company spokesman Jim Bolch attributed the move to poor market conditions. It was the third time this year that AT&T; has ordered employee cuts at the plant. In July, 877 workers were laid off, and another 1,000 were laid off the following month. The new reductions will leave 4,225 employees at the plant.
