IRELAND, CONT.

Living as we do in a pluralistic society, it’s hard to believe there are men such as David McCalden who measure their fellow man by a religious yardstick.

While the world becomes a global village, McCalden collects the names of Irish Protestant achievers and files them away in his spite chest only to retrieve them at the drop of Charles Champlin’s pen.

This prince of prejudice even goes beyond the grave to taint the Irish Protestant Founding Fathers of this country who valiantly shook off the British yoke that his native province still wears as a mantle.

Religious labels are the pathetic playthings of the intellectually impoverished, and until McCalden moves up to high ground and trades in his narrow view for a broader vision, he should know that as an Irish Protestant he is half right.
