Highland Orchards Homes Open Today in Tehachapi

Highland Orchards, a development of 780 single-family homes, opens today in Tehachapi with 23 units in the first phase.
Priced from $55,990 to $66,990, the homes are available in three floor plans with two to four bedrooms, one or two baths, living room fireplaces and greenhouse kitchen windows in 860 to 1,150 square feet of space.
The Barmakian Co. of Rancho Cucamonga is developing the project on a 140-acre site between Pinon Street and Highline Road, just west of Curry Street, reached from the Mill Street exit of California 58. First move-ins are scheduled in January.
Three models, decorated by Yeiser Garland & Associates of Costa Mesa, and a sales office, staffed by Great Western Real Estate, will be open this weekend from 11 a.m. to dusk and afterward daily except Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 10 a.m. to dusk. Tehachapi is about 35 miles east of Bakersfield in the Tehachapi Mountains.
