Though the premieres of the new “Twilight Zone” and “Alfred Hitchcock Presents” were far stronger than that of “Amazing Stories,” all three should be commended for at least attempting to present intelligent, entertaining stories devoid of the mindless violence of cop shows, ludicrous contrivance of soap operas and obnoxious, witless humor of most sitcoms. If nothing else, the new anthologies prove that network TV is only as good or bad as the talent that goes into it.
