Police to Treat: Fullerton police will be “treating” Halloween ghosts and goblins to safety-oriented treats Thursday. All pint-sized trick-or-treaters who visit the Police Department’s front desk from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. will receive helium-filled “Safe Halloween” balloons featuring McGruff, the crime-fighting dog. During that same time, officers patrolling residential streets will distribute trick-or-treat bags to children, safety tips and reflectorized buttons to make children more visible to motorists at night. Youngsters are advised to make their visits to the police early in the evening because the supply of the treats is limited.
