Home Sales in Riverside Up in Quarter

New-home sales in Riverside County have climbed from 1,789 in the first quarter of this year to 2,319 in the second, according to Residential Trends, a quarterly housing report developed by Market Profiles of Costa Mesa.

Sales in the desert area rose 138% to 721 units, and in the western part of the county they gained 10.4% for a total of 1,598. A majority of the sold units were detached homes, the report continued, indicating that they are being sold faster than duplexes, town houses and flats.

However, the report continued, attached housing sales increased 126.5% from one quarter to the next, pushed by the East Riverside-Desert area where such sales climbed from 216 to 573, an increase of 165%.
