A Matter of Style

I enjoyed your article featuring the Vreelands immensely--but I sincerely hope that it was written tongue-in-cheek (tongue-in-chic is perhaps a better way of putting it).

What prompted me to write this letter, I’m not quite sure. Maybe to let you know what some real-life “high achievers” are doing.

My husband is director of psychological services for the Jonathan Jacques’ Children’s Cancer Center in Long Beach. He is young, dynamic, compassionate, and yes, he has style. He leads support groups for parents of children with cancer, counsels families, siblings, and children with cancer. He visits schools, teachers, and classmates of children with cancer to help re-integrate them back into a normal life. He does research, he publishes, and serves on the board of the American Cancer Society.

Our home has no “charming little ‘bibelots’ on Biedermeier tables.” More like matchbox cars and crayons on a Formica kitchen table. But it has great style.

How about an article on real people, Ms. Gindick?
