Security Pacific bought a small West German bank.

The Los Angeles-based bank holding company said it has purchased Baumeister Kreditbank of Frankfurt from a limited partnership for an undisclosed price. The German bank operates six branches in the Frankfurt area, has assets of $28.7 million and is primarily engaged in consumer lending. Security Pacific, parent of Security Pacific National Bank, operates a $1.5-billion consumer finance company in the United States, as well as consumer and commercial finance subsidiaries in Britain, Spain, Hong Kong and Japan.
