A big increase in U.S.-China trade is projected.

It totaled $5.04 billion for the first eight months of the year, 26% more than in the same period last year, the American Embassy said. Exports to China were up 38%, reaching nearly $2.4 billion in that period, while imports from China rose 17% to nearly $2.7 billion, the embassy reported. Total trade between the two nations last year hit a record $6 billion and is expected to reach $7 billion in 1985. Non-agricultural goods accounted for 94% of total U.S. exports to China from January through August.
