Symboli Rudolf, considered the strongest horse in Japanese racing history, finished first and Rocky Tiger, also of Japan, came in second in the fifth Japan Cup, the country’s only international horse race, at Tuchu, Japan.

The Filbert of New Zealand was third in the field of 15 horses.

The win, the 12th in 14 races for Symboli Rudolf, was worth $382,000.

Alydar’s Best of the United States was fourth, while Nassipour, the other American horse, was sixth.
