Organizers of the 1988 Seoul Olympics, originally hoping that American television money would help them make a profit, are raising the rent in the athletes’ village and hoping for bigger souvenir sales to help make ends meet.
Sports Minister Lee Yong Ho told legislators recently that the television rights contract signed with NBC-TV would bring the organizers $124 million less than originally expected.
