Aquino Verdict Coming Monday
A three-judge court said today it will announce its verdict in the Benigno Aquino assassination trial on Monday and that all 26 defendants, including armed forces chief Gen. Fabian C. Ver, have been summoned to appear.
The trial court had earlier set the verdict reading for Nov. 20, but the Supreme Court issued a temporary restraining order Nov. 19 to give it time to study a petition to declare the lower court’s proceedings a mistrial. It dismissed the petition Thursday, clearing the way for the lower court to proceed.
