I strongly object to Edward Cornish’s statement that, “Homosexuals suffer the most from AIDS largely because of the great frequency with which they change sexual partners” (Your Changing World, Nov. 22). This statement needlessly promotes damaging stereotypes about the gay community, and it is simply not true.

It is wrong to imply that all homosexuals are excessively promiscuous. Many gays are monogamous or abstain from sex altogether.
