Armed robbers kidnaped two employees of Brinks France from their homes, forced them to open an office at headquarters and made off with as much as $9.2 million, police said today.

Police said about 10 men armed with rifles and handguns broke into the employees’ homes late Sunday and this morning, tied up family members and drove the employees to headquarters of the security and courier company in this suburb northwest of Paris.

Armed gang members remained with the employees’ families during the robbery, police said.

The robbers looted strong boxes of cash and checks. When five security guards arrived for work at about 5 a.m., the robbers captured them as well and continued to empty the safes before escaping in a van, police said.
