Amway lost a round in the Canadian courts.

A Canadian judge ordered Amway Corp.’s Canadian subsidiary to turn over documents sought by Canadian tax officials in their tax-fraud case against the Michigan-based corporation. The company is accused of defrauding the government of $107 million in taxes. Justice Barbara Reed rejected a claim by attorneys for Amway Canada Ltd. of London, Ontario, that the documents could be withheld since they may be incriminating. Reed said that, since Amway Canada had turned over documents in its favor, it must produce the others as well.
