Oil Threatens Baltic Beach

WARSAW —
A 5-mile-long, 500-yard-wide oil slick is drifting toward Poland’s cleanest beach on the Baltic from a broken pipeline in the seaport of Gdynia, the newspaper Glos Wybrzeza said Thursday. About 15,000 tons of oil leaked into the sea.
