Sea Cable to Be Repaired

PEKING —
A seabed cable linking Shanghai and southwestern Japan will be repaired next year, six years after it was accidentally severed, the New China News Agency said. It said the cable will be relaid farther south to avoid snagging fishing nets, and that it will be buried to a depth of 43 inches, 15 inches deeper than before.
